Over 2,000 projects completed within 40 days

Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa inaugurated several projects in the Mahara electorate under the program of 'Eka Gamakata Eka Wedak' carried out under the supervision of Minister Basil Rajapaksa in the Gampaha district yesterday.

Under this program 2,000 development projects were completed within 40 days in the district.

The Minister addressing the gathering after the completion of one project in Mahara said during a short period the entire Gampaha district was provided with 100 percent electricity. By 2012, water will be supplied for each house in the Gampaha district, he said.

He noted that President Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed to supply basic needs such as roads, water and electricity for all houses in the country. According to that policy the Gampaha district has already been provided with electricity completely and water and transport problems also will be settled during next year, he added.
