Brazil, Zambia strengthen ties
Brazil: Presidents Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (Brazil) and
Rupiah Banda (Zambia) expressed willingness to join hands to strengthen
bilateral and multilateral relations between the two nations.
A joint statement released at the end of a meeting between them
recalls the 10 cooperation agreements and memorandums signed, including
one related to food security and the program Zero Hunger Zambia.
The statement also cites the complementary adjustment for the
implementation of a biofuel production project, for which Brazil is
ready to transfer advanced technology, as many companies consider it
likely to establish a regional market for these fuels and even export
them to Europe. Both Presidnts assessed ongoing projects in agriculture,
education, professional training, energy, sports, culture and health,
and discussed new areas like defense and security, industry, livestock,
urban development, science and technology, as well as air transportation
and services, according to the text.
