Rugger and cricket teams ready

Sri Lanka’s seven-a-side rugby team and Tewnty20 cricket team had their first workouts as they prepared to compete at the 16th Asian Games here next week. The rugby team, captained by Radhika Hettachchchi had a full work out. But the Lankan cricket team had only some light workouts as they plan to have a full practice session tomorrow. Jehan Mubarak’s Sri Lanka team has got a bye to play directly in Wednesday’s quarter finals of the Asian Games Twenty20 cricket tournament.

Paranavithana misses his third ton:

Two fighting knocks from opener Tharanga Paranavithana and Mahela Jayawardena ensured Sri Lanka would force a draw to the opening Test match against the West Indies at the Galle International Stadium yesterday.
