Blessings of Hindu people always with President -Minister

A Hindu Religious function was held at the New Sri Kadiravelayutha Swami Kovil, Bambalapitiya yesterday at 6.45 a.m. in accordance with Hindu Religious traditions, headed by Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development Minister Douglas Devananda to bless President Mahinda Rajapaksa on assuming of second term of office and his birthday.

The religions function was conducted by the Chief Hindu Priest, Nagaraja Kurukkal of the Kovil. At the end of the function, the Hon. Minister issuing a statement to the media said that the religious function held, was solely to bless the President on assuming of second term of office. And that the blessings of all the Hindu people were always with the President. The Minister wishesd the President to get the opportunity to serve the people to a greater extent on his second term of office and that he had the confident that the President had the strength and courage to do so.

Weerakumara Dissanayake, Deputy Minister said that this religious function organized by the officials of his Ministry and Minister Douglas Devananda was an important one and that it indicated the trust the Hindu devotees had placed on the President for the valuable services rendered to them. Jaffna Mayor Yogeswary Pathkunarajh said that the people of Jaffna were commemorating the second term of President with joy and happiness as a mark of respect to him for the freedom endowed.

Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development Ministry Secretary V. Sivagnanasothi said that all the officials attached to the institutions under the purview of the Ministry worked with strong dedication in organizing this function due to love and trust they had on the President.

National Crafts Council Chairman, Buddhi Keerthisena, National Design Centre Chairman Marshal Janatha, Ministry Add. Secretary Samarasinghe and many officials participated.
