World leaders greet President

Foreign leaders and representatives wished President Mahinda Rajapaksa on him being sworn to presidency for a second term. They met the President at President’s House yesterday afternoon.

Among those who called on President Rajapaksa at President’s House included Maldivian President Mohammed Nazeed, Prime Minister of Bhutan Lyonchchen Jigmi Y Thinley and his wife. Representatives from the United Kingdom and Pakistan were also present to greet the President. Leaders from many countries wished President Mahinda Rajapaksa over the telephone.
