Inter-active night
Interact District for the years 2010/2011 organized their annual Club
Service project ‘Inter Eve’ under the theme ‘Service our aim.
Understanding our means’ with the objective spread awareness among the
attending Principals, Staff Advisors and Rotary Advisors of the Interact
Clubs and inform the school authorities of the advantages and aims of
Interact.
This event was held on October 19 at the Grand Ballroom at Galle Face
Hotel. A team of 28 Interactors from numerous schools, lead by
Chairperson Int.
PP Budshana Kalapuge, had tirelessly worked towards making this event
a success.
The Chief Guest for this event was Past District Governor and current
New Generations District Advisor Rtn. PHF Mangala Gunawardena. The
financial support and their main sponsor was Hindustan University and it
is being represented in Sri Lanka by Metro Institute of Higher
Education, which is Asia’s pioneer Institute in Engineering and Aviation
Technology.
Students from 40 countries, across Asia and Africa are studying in
the campus.
It offers ultra modern campus with world-class hostel facilities
ideally suited for foreign students. The university has the
collaboration with reputed Universities and research organizations like
Warwick Manufacturing Group (UK), City University (London), Dongguk
University (South Korea). Mutual Sponsor for the event was Crown
Business College.
The theme of the Interact District 3220 for the year 2010/2011,
headed by District Interact Representative Int. PP Harinda Senaratne is
‘Equality and Diversity; an acceptance of the diversity irrefutably
among us and strive towards equality to overcome these barriers.
They hope that the Interactors, school authorities and sponsoring
Rotary Clubs may come to an equal plain of understanding and work
towards the greater good which is truly what Interact is all about.
The purpose of Interact is to create fellowship among youth dedicated
to service and international understanding. In Sri Lanka, Interact is a
highly active institution consisting of students between the ages of 12
and 19 who still attend school. |
