The Miss Earth crown has become a symbol of comparable pulchritude of
enduring advocacy through the years. The new crown features various gem
stones endemic to the countries. It is a symbol of co-operation and
unity towards a universal goal of saving mother earth.
Sri Lankan gemstone too will have a pride of place on the beautiful
world crown. Year 2010 being the Year of Biodiversity, Sri Lanka is
honoured to be a part of the 10 Miss Earth Pageant. This happens to be
the second biggest world pageant, next to Miss Universe where over a

The Miss Earth crown |
The new crown is out of hundred present recycled fourteen carat gold
and sterling silver. The design is a flower which symbolizes a happy and
thriving earth. The gems are the highlight of the master piece. They not
only signify the earth’s precious resources, but the diverse
backgrounds, cultural significances and mystical embodiment of the
beauties. Miss Earth presenters have fittingly selected Studio 9 as the
National Body in Sri Lanka, who is supported by the Environment and
Tourism Ministry individually to promote the Miss Earth image in time to
come.
One very conservative beauty who knows to love, protect and
understand the needs of the enviroment will represent Sri Lanka in
Vietnam early December. |
