Browns records impressive results

Brown & Company PLC recorded impressive results during six months ended September 30 2010.

The Group recorded Rs 6.1 billion as revenue during the six months ended September 30 showing 58 percent growth compared to same period in last year. Gross profit for the period was Rs 1.3 billion and this is a 156 percent increase, the company income statement said.

The Group also recorded Rs 2.02 billion profit before tax during six months ended September 30 and Profit after tax was Rs 1.9 billion for the period. The group profit before tax for the quarter ended September 30 was Rs 1.69 billion and profit after tax reported as Rs 1.6 billion during this period.

Company level revenue was recorded as Rs 3.8 billion and gross profit for the six months ended September 30, 2010 was Rs 877 million. The profit before tax Rs 362.7 million while profit after tax was recorded as Rs 284.1 million.
