SIGINIS Salutation Ceremony organized by World Catholic Organization
Sri Lanka will be held at the BMICH on November 26 at 6.00pm for the
34th time.
Signis Communication Director Rev Benedict Joseph said: “This time
the event will be given a new facelift as we are trying our best to
convince the viewers a new difference which will be applicable to the
taste of Sri Lankans.”
Commenting on the principal objectives Rev Bendict Joseph said: “Our
main objectives through this ceremony are identifying Cinema as an art,
conveying cinema towards public acknowledgment and educating the public
on the subject. SIGNIS is the peak of these objectives.”
Revealing the plans of the institution for the future Rev Benedict
Joseph said: “Our attention should be mainly focused on radio and tv. We
should develop a dialogue to correct the journey of media industry if
they have wronged their way.
We are launching worthwhile programs to serve this program.
Organizing a film festival next year would be one of our main concerns.
We are getting support from other countries in case of the film
festival,” Rev Joseph said.
SIGNIS will be rewarding the personalities who excelled in their
creations such as tele dramas and films.
This time the ceremony will be focusing the works which were
presented in 2008 and 2009 respectively. |
