Vietnam, Lanka for stronger ties

Both dignitaries discussed ways of enhancing commercial and economic
cooperation between Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
Minister Bathiutheen highlighted the need for concerted efforts to
harness true potential of both nations in terms of trade and economic
relations.
The Minister informed the new Ambassador that Sri Lanka has now
become a land of opportunities under the dynamic leadership of President
Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Sri Lanka has embarked on a number of development projects and
invited investors from Vietnam to consider Sri Lanka in tourism and
other industries.
The Ambassador assured that his Mission will certainly work very
closely with the private sector of Sri Lanka and initiate a plan of
action to identify new avenues to develop trade links.
Further cooperation on agriculture especially post harvest measures
adopted in Vietnam would also be looked into. |
