Govt will resettle Muslims evicted by LTTE - President
Equal treatment for all:
President Mahinda Rajapaksa told Muslims who were
forcibly evicted from the North by the LTTE 20 years ago, that the
Government would ensure that they are resettled in their places of
origin with necessary help to lead happy and prosperous lives.

University stabbing incident:
Suspect still at large
Peradeniya Police is yet to arrest a suspect who
fled after stabbing a second year student attached to the Veterinary
Medicine and Animal Science Faculty of the Peradeniya University at
the University premises on Saturday. The suspect had reportedly
stabbed him and run away when the victim had tried to stop him from
attacking a female Temporary Assistant Lecturer at the University’s
Faculty of Agriculture.

Rs 30,000 drug fine on five
Five people who possessed 10 mg of heroin and
3,450 mg of cannabis were fined Rs 30,000 by Matara Chief Magistrate
Udesh Ranatunga. The suspects were arrested during a raid conducted
by Matara Police Corruption Prevention Unit Friday.
