Water bill payment via SMS

Enabling the use of mobile phone SMS facility to pay water bills is one of the programs mooted by the Water Supply and Drainage Ministry to mark the beginning of President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s second term in office.

The Ministry is also planning to vest with the public several completed water supply schemes on the instruction of Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

Other programs mooted are 30,000 tree planting program, religious ceremonies, alms giving programs and sanitary projects.
