Press Council holds regional media workshop

The Sri Lanka Press Council held a workshop for regional media personnel at 'Sesatha', Matale on the theme 'Role of Provincial Journalist.' It was part of a series of such workshops held prior to the 'Deyata Kirula' exhibition.

Resource persons who participated in the workshop were Prof Sunanda Mahendra, journalists Ariyananda Dombagahawatta and Karunadasa Sooriyaarachchi, National Development Centre Director Ariya Rubasinghe and Government Information Director Wasantha Priya Ramanayake.

Besides the journalists, Parliamentarians Nandimithra Ekanayake and Rohana Dissanayake, Sri Lanka Press Council Chairman W Dayaratne PC, Mass Media and Information Ministry Secretary W B Ganegala, Assistant Secretary Sujan Nanayakkara, Press Council Commissioner E Wijepala and Matale District Secretary H M Gamini Seneviratne were also present.
