Better education for younger generation - Minister Keheliya Rambukwella

Mass Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella at the opening of the State Printing Corporation, Kandy sales outlet yesterday said that the present Government is acquiring State resources sold to international organizations by some of the former leaders. Shell Gas Company which had been in the hands of private sector for over 15 years has now been acquired by the Government. The Minister said the present Government did not privatize a single State venture since 2005.

He said the period that dawns with the inauguration of President's second term of Office will be an era of higher development. He said education is the main aspect of creating an intelligent and disciplined younger generation and the Government is engaged in providing the younger generation with a better education.

The Minister said students would be able to buy books at a low cost from State Printing Corporation sales outlets.

Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake State Printing Corporation Chairman Jayampathy Heenkenda and General Manager Nilantha Monarawila also spoke. Central Province Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela and Several other dignitaries participated at the occasion.
