Heavy fines on traffic offenders

The Kandy Police Division Highway Traffic Unit has detected 2,440 traffic offenders in the Kandy Police Division and produced them before the Court during the last 30 days.

Rs 10.5 million has been imposed on them as penalties by the Court. Among the offenders 68 have been found to be under the influence of liquor and penalties imposed on them were Rs 5.1 million.
