More agriculture cooperative socities for NCP

The North Central Provincial Council has embarked on a program to open Agriculture Development Cooperative Societies in all Divisional Secretariat divisions in the province.

Among the facilities being offered by these institutes to the farmer community are the supply of high quality agri seeds and carbonic fertilizer instead of artificial chemical fertilizer and also to provide plants and saplings to take to homegardening under 'Let's cultivate - let's build the country' program. The Agriculture Development Cooperative Societies are administered by the Provincial Agriculture Ministry.

The North Central Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake commissioned the Mihintale Agriculture Development Bank at Kurundankulama recently.

The Chief Minister said that the PC, NCP is on target with the Mahinda Chintana's future vision initiated numerous agricultural development ventures.

He further said that in near future there would be 30 such agriculture development cooperative societies in the province for boosting the agriculture sector.
