Bambalapitiya junction to Kollupitiya junction:

Motorists requested to use alternative roads

Traffic Administration and Road Safety DIG Asoka Wijetileke requested the public to use alternative roads from the seaside and the landside from the Bambalapitiya junction to Kollupitiya junction until the completion of the ongoing renovation work on the main Galle Road.

The DIG appealed to the public and the motorists to obey the sign boards on the main road to avoid any inconvenience to the pedestrians. He has also arranged an awareness program for the motorists and to the public in the Western Province Division with regard to safe usage of the roads.

The DIG had introduced several sign boards to exhibit on the main roads. The message from the Traffic Police are-Overtake only when necessary. Drive carefully-school crossing ahead. Collisions kill- adhere to road sense. An alert motorist is a good driver. For your own safety use the pedestrian crossing and Reduce speed at intersections.
