Synthetic track for Peradeniya Uni

New Synthetic Track is to be set up at Peradeniya University by next year, Higher Education Ministry Co-ordinating Secretary Sunil Gunawardene told the Daily News.

The Government will allocate funds from the budget to establish the track with all facilities, he said.

The aim of the project is to have a healthy student community while promoting sports activities. The university can also earn extra money given to schools.

Gunawardene said that the Ministry has decided to establish 20 gymnasiums inside the universities.
