Met Dept predicts wet weather

A cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal off the eastern sea 700 nautical miles away from Trincomalee will result in heavy rain in the North and East regions.

Warning

* Thunder and lighting
* Sea expected to be rough

Rain will spread throughout the island for two to three days, Meteorological Department duty forecaster Chaminda de Silva told the Daily News.

The Department also warned that thunder and lighting were likely to develop in the island during these days.

The sea is expected to be rough and the fishing community is warned of impending dangers.
