In Vogue holds first style awards
Sri Lanka's first ever Style Awards conducted by In Vogue magazine
was held recently at Cinnamon Grand.

The Style Awards paid homage to women of impeccable style and
grooming of all ages at a glamorous and star studded event.
In Vogue Editor Prithiva Dharmadasa said she intended making this an
annual event where women regardless of whether they were housewives,
career women or those involved in the glamour industry, were paid
tribute to.
Hosting the awards were fashion guru, Kirthi Sri Kaunaratne and
well-known media personality Illika Kaunaratne.
Awards were presented to women in three categories the Young Woman,
the Woman Approaching Maturity and the Mature Woman while the judges
were all people of repute - beauticians Ramani Fernando, film producer
Chandran Ratnam, fashion designer Darshi Keerthisena and hotelier Rohan
Karr.
The award winner in the Young category were Anjuli Flamer Caldera and
actress Anarkalli Akarssha. The Women Approaching Maturity were Banker
Kimarli Fernando, Architect Dipika Dharmadasa and businesswoman Angeline
Ondaatjie while in the Mature Women category, the winners were Swyrie
Balendra, fashion designer Yoland Aluvihare Holms and Educationist
Goolbai Gunasekera.
A special award Style Icon was given to Ramani Fernando for her
outstanding contribution to the fashion and beauty industry as well as
for being itself, an undisputed Fashion Icon.
Dharmadasa thanked those involved in making the Style Awards a
reality, in particular the media and promised to make this an annual
feature.
