Cox speaks about split for first time from David

Speaking at the premiere of his new film The Legend Of Hallowdega, he said he would be returning to the family home to go trick-or-treating with Cox and their six-year-old daughter Coco.

"Coco is going to be a bumblebee and Courteney is going to be a sunflower... I'll put on a flower suit," he said. Meanwhile former Friends actress Courteney described the breakdown of their 11-year marriage as a separation.

"I don't know what will happen, but this is not like we're getting divorced.

"This is a separation and I think that takes a lot of courage. Whatever is supposed to happen will be the best thing for us," she said.

And Courteney went on to play down David's interviews on the Howard stern show, the most recent of which saw him tell the shock jock he'd slept with two women since the split.

She said, "(David) is a kook. It's not shocking and Howard Stern, he loves him and I'm a fan of Howard Stern.

"David is an entertainer and I'm sure the people who listen to the radio are entertained by his stories."

She must have the patience of a saint.

Cox also admitted she had turned to pal Jennifer Aniston during her hour of need.

"A lot of really close friends are kind of going through this right now or like Jennifer (who) has gone through it.

"I don't know what's going on in the planets or what, but things are being shaken up and I don't know what's going to happen, but yeah, Jennifer has been amazing for sure."
