'Rupavahini awards, event for all'

The National Rupavahini Awards Ceremony does not only belong to the National Heritage and Cultural Affairs Ministry it is an event for all television institutes of the country, National Heritage and Cultural Affairs Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said.

She was addressing leaders of television media at the National Heritage and Cultural Affairs Ministry auditorium recently. The discussion was held to create awareness for television media about the Awards Ceremony for 2010. Some people do not present their creations for judgements to the Award Ceremony. They are not concerned about this national function, she said.

"We have taken the responsibility to appreciate our artistes," she said.
