Training programs for youth welfare

The Youth Affairs Ministry has initiated various training programs for the welfare of youth, Youth Affairs Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said.

He was addressing a ceremony held at Mawala, Radampola to mark the commencement of construction activities of the Mawala irrigation tank at the Dickwella Divisional Secretariat area. Minister Alahapperuma said that the proposed irrigation tank project which is being built under the Gama Neguma would provide irrigation water facilities to over 560 acres of paddy lands in and around Radampola and Urugamuwa.

The sluice gate of this tank is completely different from those of other irrigation tanks in the island. An advanced technology has been utilized for this, Minister Alahapperuma said.
