Proposal mooted to train foreign preschool teachers here

Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena has forwarded a proposal to the UNESCO to train foreign preschool teachers at the Sri Lanka National College of Education.

He made this suggestion when he called on UNESCO Director General Mokami at the annual UNESCO Assembly held in Paris. He said Sri Lankan National Colleges are capable of functioning as international training centres for preschool teachers. He said a positive reply for the request has been received from the UNESCO. A comprehensive report on training preschool teachers in Sri Lanka has been requested from the Sri Lankan Embassy in France by the UNESCO Director in this regard.

He made these observations addressing a media conference at the Education Ministry Monday.
