Anathema

Sky turns grey
Wind blows heavily
There is an anathema
By pouring rain
When it is uncontrollable
There occurs catastrophe
Rain sometimes causes
Devastation - Devastation
It's the natural calamity

Life, the great prize

The other day,
While, on my way, strolling down the avenue,
I saw a poor little butterfly,
Helplessly struggling, fallen,
Upon the highway.

I thought, it may soon,
Get run over. So I,
Picked it up and
Took it to safe grounds.

After some time, of resting,
It flew away, fluttering the wings,
Thankfully,
To life happily,
Another day.

If ever we see
Any creature in trouble,
It is our duty
To bring it Security and protection.

All life, is precious.
As is, yours and mine.
We should teach our children that and
To respect, appreciate and value,
Life, the great prize.

One eyed giant

Like the flowing hair
Of a damsel fair
Runs the train mare
Through the tunnels rare
Out like bread from the ovens
Down into the basin open
Hooting like a wild demon
Runs on rails iron brown
Through the rain sun and mist
Morning mid day all night
Making deafining sounds fright
Comes the train on a plight
Taking curves like snakes
Straight tines like arrows
Lumbering mounts like ants
Along the seashore like whales
One eyed giant
Puling wagons
Like a slave
All the times

Departure

The tears in her feeble eyes,
And the words she said...,
At his death,
About life...,
Its uncertainty....,
Impermanancy....,

And, her painful voice ....,
Sorrowful face...,
All show ... the depth of her pain,
The grief of departure ....
From the beloved husband,
Who shared life with her ...,
Over the past decades ....,
More than fifty years .....

Being together ... ,
From beautiful youth...,
To feeble old age ....,
Through mature adulthood.
Being faithful to each other ...,
As husband and wife ...,
Sharing both joy and sorrow
With understanding and serene love.

And bringing up their own children ...,
Seeing their growth ...,
From infancy to childhood,
From childhood to adulthood
Through adolescence ....

Seeing now they became parents ...,
Giving grandsons and granddaughters,
Following the same cycle of uncertainity,
They shared life peacefully.

As you said....,
And as the Buddha showed,
It's true, that life is impermanent
And departure is painful,
Departure from beloveds,
Gives unbearable sorrow.
It's the law of world..,
The law of reality....
Though we like or not..

But..., the way you lived.
As a faithful wife...,
A loving mother ...,
And a beloved teacher...,
To the children of nation,
May relieve your mind.

Knowing that truth...,
Let the grief ....,
The grief of departure...., be vanish ....
And till your mind ...,
With serene peace ...,
Till you meet him
In next souls ....,
Until you two ....,
Attain the noble Nibbana ...

Ode to a heavenly fruit

Delicious mango
gold-green fruit incomparable
I'd choose you any day
over a pear or an apple.
Luscious mango
I like to enjoy you quietly
spooning your sweet meat into my mouth
meditatively
while others
will tear into your ripe body greedily
your yellow-orange juice
dripping down their chins
lasciviously.
Delectable mango
no matter how we savour
your unique flavour
you are a treat from heaven.

Cricket in office

Hi ! Presume the stadium to an office
Ball is the file, pen is the bat
Batting team assume as your staff
Fielders are competitors you face
Spectators are the general public
Who will enjoy either teams
Umpire is the Head, observing -
Parliament collects all the points

When a file is properly channelled
The pen strikes it sixes and fours
If the file goes out of the route
Wide or a no ball umpire confirms
If the file does not touch the target
LBW says back the umpire
If the file does not get the sanction
Bales fall off - stumps shot out

By a chance if the file is caught
Secrets, out the company loses
Staff must know to handle the file
If not the competitor hits to the bales
By that if you do not respect the file
Dooms day to your office points lost
If the file does not impress the viewer
No jobs - closure - office - swept.
