Communication is defined as a process by which we assign and convey
meaning in an attempt to create shared understanding. This process
requires a vast repertoire of skills in intra-personal and interpersonal
processing, listening, observing, speaking, questioning, analyzing and
evaluating. Use of this process is developmental and transfers to all
areas of life: home, school, community, work and beyond. It is through
communication that collaboration and cooperation occur.
If there is one unifying theme that crosses all disciplines, it is
communication. Communication is our window to basic literacy and
academic excellence. Reaching levels of excellence and accuracy of
formal English is a must in this backdrop. These are the capabilities
that cultivate the potential in each student and the possibilities for
our future.
Now students can learn media subjects for their O-L and A-L. But
relevant books are very rare. Anushka Ratnatilake Wijeweera's Mass
Communication book is a perfect book for students who study in schools
and universities.
This book has six main chapters including basic knowledge of
communication, communication forms, projects, communication types,
project implementation and development communication.
Because of the simple language students can easily use this book;
this is the uniqueness of his effort. Anushka Ratnatilake obtained his
Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Degrees from Kelaniya University and
obtained a diploma from College of Journalism.
He now works as a reporter and television and radio announcer. |
