Ranjan granted bail

UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayake who was arrested by the CID and later
remanded on a court order over a complaint of a Rs one million fraud
made by a teacher of a leading school in Kandy was released on Rs 25,000
cash and two sureties of Rs 500,000 when he was produced before Kandy
Additional Magistrate Tanuj Jayatunge yesterday. Ramanayake was also
ordered to give prior notice to court if he intended to go abroad at any
time as a mandatory requirement.
He was also ordered to desist from posing any threat to the
complainant. If there was any such complaint bail would be suspected and
he would be sent back to jail. |
