Stocks end flat

The All Share Price Index of the Colombo Stock Exchange ended the day flat at 6,835 on a turnover of Rs 6.8 billion, though it was over 100 points in early morning trade yesterday.

The more liquid Milanka Price Index was down by 8 points (-0.1 percent) to close 7,458. Rs 4.4 billion came from Aitken Spence & Co, which saw a 18 million shares transact at Rs 230.00.

The Aitken Spence share commenced trading after the 15 for 1 split.

The share closed up at the split adjusted price of Rs 216.20, gaining Rs 3.50. Diesel and Motor Engineering group also saw 500 shares crossing at Rs 911.20, with total turnover from DIMO coming to Rs 462 million.

Hatton National Bank voting shares were third largest contributor to turnover with business of Rs 316 million, while the share closed at Rs 400.00, down Rs 3.50. First Guardian Equities
