Colombo University launches Wedananasala

Colombo University Medical Faculty has launched a website named www.wedananasala. org, through which the public can learn about matters related to health. Human Genetics Unit of Department of Anatomy Dr Charith Nanayakkara in a press release said they have avoided medical words to enable the people to understand medical issues easily. He said the website is available in Sinhala and Tamil languages and over 4,000 articles in relation to health matters have been uploaded.

Dr Nanayakkara said the public can access to various articles related to diabetes, heart diseases, surgery, gynecology and obstetrics and psychiatry.

The articles have been compiled by the specialists in the medical field. He added that this website contains videos in Sinhala and Tamil to educate the public on communicable diseases. The website has been selected to the e-Swabhimani award and was nominated to the Manthan award for South Asia, he added.
