Rs 10 fare for special Colombo bus service

The SLTB in an effort to further improve the quality of service provided to city commuters yesterday launched a special bus service around Colombo charging a standard fare from passengers to any destination. The new Standard Bus Fair Service will start from Colombo Fort and take a circuitous route covering all urban centres passing towns in Colombo, Pettah, Maradana, Borella, Narahenpita, Kirulapone, Havelock Town, Town hall and back. It will operate from 6 am to 7.30 pm daily. The fare will be Rs 10, Transport Minister Kumara Welgama said inaugurating the bus service yesterday.

SLTB will deploy six yellow coloured buses on this route. Buses will be available on this route at a frequency of 30 minutes. There will be three buses each on each direction.
