USLA defends Sri Lanka in NZ
United Sri Lanka Association (USLA) of New Zealand has so far donated
limbs to the war heroes through the Army Seva Vanitha branch, said its
spokesman Dr Chula Rajapaksa during his short visit to Sri Lanka last
week. The value of limbs so far donated exceeds NZ dollars 25,000. More
donations will follow in future, he said.
The USLA has been campaigning vigorously in New Zealand against LTTE
misinformation campaigns and explaining Sri Lanka’s position during the
war and after.
At present it is engaged in a campaign to get the New Zealand
Government to proscribe the LTTE as a terrorist organization. After the
2004 tsunami the USLA donated funds for the houses which were
constructed by Sarvodaya in Wenamulla, Ambalangoda.
The total funding was in excess of NZ dollars 350,000.
