CropLife Asia to hold regional workshop in Sri Lanka
Promoting safe and responsible use of pesticides:
The annual stewardship workshop of CropLife Asia will be held in Sri
Lanka from September 28 to 30 at Dambulla Kandalama Hotel. CropLife Sri
Lanka Safe Use Sub Committee Chairman and Zagro Singapore Pte Ltd
Business Manager Rohitha Nanayakkara said CropLife Sri Lanka is hosting
this event after one and a half decades. "We held the same event in Sri
Lanka in the mid-nineties and we did not get a chance to host the event
upto now.
"The prevailing peaceful situation has given us the opportunity
again," Nanayakkara said. Representatives from CropLife Global -
Brussels, CropLife Asia - Singapore and country representatives from
China, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Bangladesh,
Taiwan, Sri Lanka and Australia will participate in this forum. The
participants will exchange ideas on safe and responsible use of
pesticides with their country experiences and plan new projects for
2011.
Sri Lanka's Pesticides Registrar will deliver a special lecture on
September 29 at the workshop.
