Don’t waste time -Speaker

Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa yesterday warned opposition members in Parliament that he would not allow oral questions if they waste time creating chaos in the House. He also warned the members of both sides in the House to behave well.

The speaker made this observation after an uproar erupted when UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake raised a supplementary question during the oral questions.

The Speaker stated that the supplementary questions should be raised in brief and the answer should also be brief.

He further said the members should behave in a responsible manner as there are children in the public gallery.
