Lakjeewa a new swimming star
Krisha Lakjeewa (St Anthony's College, Wattala) is a swimmer with a
bright future. Though his school is sans a pool, he has come a long way
through his perseverance and dedication. This Grade 12 student has
brought honour to his alma mater,winning at every meet he competed since
2004.

Lakjeewa can be considered as a breast stroke and free style
specialist in shorter events, 50 m, 100 m and 200 m. During the years
2009 and 2010 he has won gold, silver and bronze medals at every meet
conducted by the governing body for swimming.
In the years 2005 and 2006 too won many medals and also the 4 x 25 m
medley relay and repeated the same in the year 2008 representing the
Gampaha district at the National Sports Festival.
He also competed many open sea swims organized and conducted by
Kinross Swimming and Lifesaving Club. Lakjeewa won the gold and silver
at the Invitation Relay championships organized by Sri Lanka Air Force
in 2004 and 2007 respectively.
He also have completed a Life Saving Training Course conducted by
Ananda College Water Sports Association recently. Lakjeewa is a swimmer
the selectors can take note of for a better future of the sport. |
