Sri Lanka recognizes the challenges we face, among the greatest of which is healing the wounds of the recent past, said President Mahinda Rajapaksa addressing the 64th United Nations General Assembly in New York yesterday.

Now 18th Amendment is law

Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa announced in Parliament yesterday that he has certified the 18th Amendment to the Constitution Bill. Therefore, the provisions of the 18th Amendment have become law with effect from yesterday.
