Navy rugby team for Malaysia

The Sri Lanka Navy Sevens rugby team will leave for Malaysia today to take part in the Jonah Jones Seven-a-side Rugby Tournament which will be conducted on September 25 and 26 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

The sailors will be led by winger Niranjan Wickramaratne and will field a young side with the intention of giving them the much needed foreign exposure.

The team will be coached by Ronnie Ibrahim and will be accompanied by Commodore N.K.D. Nanayakkara as the manager. The invitation for Navy was extended by the SLRFU who have decided not to send a national team for the event.

The Sri Lanka Navy Sevens squad: Niranjan Wickremaratne (Captain), G.C. Nishantha, Dev Ananda, Hamza Hassen, Dushan Honnathara, Kosala Tissera, Nuwan Bandara, Chula Susantha, D.P. Manawadu, Lakmal Fernando, Nilfer Ibrahim, M.E.R.C. Silva.
