NCC last years under 23 winners and this years runners up is to
receive a boost when they receive a sponsorship for a second term from 'Munchee'
this was disclosed at a press briefing held at NCC Club premises on
Tuesday.
At a press briefing held with regard to the sponsorship former Sri
Lanka and NCC cricketer and present chairman selectors Aravinda de Silva

when he look around and see some of his contemporaries it brings back
nostalgic memories. "My roots are here at NCC, and thirty years of my
cricket was played here, and when I look around and see some people with
'pot bellies' like me, it brings back longing memories. My association
with NCC and Ritzbury (a CBL product) lasted for 5 years during my
playing days." said Aravinda.
He further said that without sponsorship the future is bleak for the
younger generation and wished the CBL/NCC partnership all success.
Nanadana Wickremage the Group Director/Head Of Marketing and Sales
thanked NCC for giving the opportunity to sponsor the club for the
second year. He was glad that Aravinda had not forgotten the past and
NCC winning the Under 23 championship last year and was placed runner up
this year. Wickremage concluded saying their vision was not only
promoting the Brand, but also giving prominence to the sport and
requested other companies too, to come forward and assist the other
clubs.
Ceylon Biscuits Ltd. Manufacturers of Munchee biscuits and other food
products gave every indication of supporting sports while sponsoring NCC
for the second year during the coming cricket season in addition to
their commitment to school cricket sponsoring the Old Wesleyite
Invitation Schools six-a-side tournament which is scheduled to begin
