Maheen and Amali set the floor ablaze

Danceport 2010 organized by Artistic Dance World for the first time will be held at Opulent River Face Hotel, Nawala, Rajagiriya on September 25 at 6 p.m.

The event is open for all ballroom dance lovers and is organized to coincide with Mahen Ranasinghe’s 15th year in the field of dancing. According to the organizers of this event, Maheen Ranasinghe and Amali Ranasinghe, the competition is open for both children and adults. All dancing schools are welcome to take part. The competition embodies international rules and regulations. It will be judged by a panel of qualified adjudicators.

Winners will receive Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, trophies and certificates. Certificates will be awarded to those who attain fourth, fifth and sixth place. Over 60 couples will compete for the title in all the categories.

The organizers wish to build a dance studio in Sri Lanka equipped with all facilities for ballroom dancing. The studio will be built according to international standards along with a wooden floor and other requirements. The studio will be made available for dancing practices, rehearsals and other events for all dancing schools in the country.
