Pushpadana Girls College enter the finals

Pushpadana Girls College, Kandy entered the finals of the girls under
19 schools hockey tournament organized by the Ministry of Sports of the
Central Province when they beat Girls High School, Kandy 4-0 at the
Nandimithra Hockey Stadium in Matale yesterday. At half time Pushpadana
Girls led 2-0.
Goal scorers for Pushpadana Girls College were C S K Ekanayake (2), D
Bandara (1) and S L Wijesundera (1).
In another match of the same tournament Hemamali Girls College, Kandy
edged out Central Province Hockey Academy 1-0 after a blank first half.
Centre forward Wasana Rajapakse scored the goal for the winners.
In the boys under 19 tournament Kingswood College pulled off a
thrilling 1-0 win over Trinity College. Left extreme H K S de Silva
scored the winning goal for the Kingswoodians.
Central Province Hockey Academy came up with a good performance to
defeat Trinity College 4-1 after leading 2-1 at the breather.
Goal scorers for the Central Province Hockey Academy were A. Bandara
(2), W W Welaratne (1) and S M Gunawardena (1). For Trinity Lukman Shah
scored their solitary goal.
St. Sylvester's College did well to enter the finals of the boys
under 19 tournament by defeating Vidyartha |College 4-0. At half time
St. Sylvester's led 2-0.
M R Dissanayake (2), B Koralegedera (1) and T Satheeskumar (1)
sounded the boards for the Sylvestrians.
In the final match for the day, Central Province Hockey Academy beat
Sri Sumangala College 1-0. There was no scoring in the first half.
