Trinity in innings win over Kingswood

Trinity College scored their second win in five days when they
cruised to an innings and 49 run win over Kingswood College in their
inter-school cricket match concluded at the Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy
yesterday. The match ended shortly after lunch.
Kingswoodians who made 64 in their first innings in reply to
Trinity's first innings total of 251 for 5 declared.
But they did not fare well yesterday morning as their top order
batsman once again failed and were struggling at 42 for 5 before a
stubborn sixth wicket stand of 67 between skipper Yasindu Athukorale
(25) and Lakshitha Madushan (62) took the total up to 109 to delay
victory. Madhushan batted well to hit 8 fours and a six and faced 96
deliveries.
But with the score at 109, two more wickets fell. They lost their
last 3 wickets for 2 runs and were all out for 138.
Left arm spinner Aamil Anaz bowled best to capture 4 for 29 and off
spinner Janishka Premasinghe took 3 for 20 returning match figures of 7
for 43. In two matches he has captured 18 wickets.
