Expedite debate on No-confidence motion- Minister G L Peiris

External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris urged Ministers Dinesh Gunawardena and Nimal Siripala de Silva, the Chief Government Whip and the Leader of the House, respectively to take up all necessary measures to expedite the debate on the No-confidence motion brought against him by the UNP.

The External Affairs Minister has further requested to fix the dates for the debate in the first week of October, immediately after his return from the UNGA to be held in New York to which he would accompany the President.

He has further expressed confidence that the debate would pave the way for the public to be enlightened of the fact of true traitors to the nation.
