IPM Vice President awarded
The Asia Pacific HRM Congress, which is one of the leading bodies in
the world for human resource practitioners based in India, has awarded
the Global HR Leadership Award to the Institute of Personnel Management
of Sri Lanka Inc. (IPM) Vice President Dhammika Fernando.
The core group of the Asia Pacific Congress consists of leading HRM
practitioners from almost all multinational companies (some are Fortune
500 companies) as well as PSU's of India. In this prestigious body,
there are members from academia alongside scholarly practitioners. Since
many years this association is having its awards ceremony in concurrence
with its annual conference where leading HR personalities are been
honoured from round the world for their achievements and contribution to
the practice of human resources. A multifaceted jury selects the
recipients through surveys around the globe which is a closely guarded
process.
Dhammika Fernando was selected as one of the recipients this year of
this prestigious award. He is a corporate member of IPM, who has
graduated from the institute with a merit award.
He has more than twenty three years of industry experience. Before he
was elected as a Vice President of the institute, he has served the
institute under various capacities as the Hony Secretary, a council
member and many years as a standing committee member.
At present he works as the Tropical Findings (Pvt) Ltd General
Manager, one of the pioneering, multinational companies in the
Katunayake EPZ which is operation for more than thirty years. Its HQ is
based in Tokyo, Japan.
