The paintings are dedicated to the memories of humanitarian
operations carried out by the services in Sri Lanka. Many lives and
property were sacrificed for this dreary period. The most tragic effect
of the war is that the people's attitudes which have been eroded.
Terror, corruption, and other evils have been embedded into the fabric
of life.
Now Sri Lankans have a ray of hope; the war has come to an end due to
the efforts of the Security Forces. With lives of those displaced by war
being restored to normalcy, the outlook is indeed bright.
The soldier plays a pivot role in this restoration and the attitudes
of society towards him have never been more respectful. He is viewed
with pride and warmth. The soldiers deserve the whole nation's tribute
as they had sacrificed their lives for our Motherland's unity, laying
aside their differences in cast, creed and personal desires.
Api Wenuwen Api (Be Together for All) had been dedicated to our
soldiers to spread the message of their humaneness. The exhibition also
intends to encourage Sri Lankans to support the disabled warriors and to
care for the families of those who lost their lives during the
operations for they had acted with compassion, deep humanity and
patience.
The forces have been the pillars of strength in triumphing over
