Navy recovers LTTE explosives haul

In a well-coordinated Naval intelligence operation, Naval intelligence personnel were able to unearth the largest ever LTTE C 4 explosives haul hidden in the Wellamulliwaikkal area in Mullaithivu. The high-powered lethal explosives weighed 672 kilograms and were found neatly packed in 14 kg metal boxes.

Along with the explosives, Naval troops were able to recover four high-speed inboard boat engines used by LTTE Sea Tiger wing cadres and a large cache of anti-aircraft ammunitions used by LTTE ground operatives.
