Liyanage leads Lankan Sevens squad to Shanghai
The Sri Lanka Sevens rugby team led by Pradeep Liyanage will leave
for Shanghai early tomorrow morning to take part in the Shanghai Rugby
Sevens in Shanghai, China on September 4 and 5, 2010.
The Lankan team is a blend of youth and experience which includes
seasoned campaigners of the calibre of Pradeep Liyanage, Saliya Kumara,
Radhika Hettiarachchi and Chanaka Chandimal and talented youngsters like
Charith Seneviratne, Vishwamithra Jayasinghe, Darshana Etipola and
Roshan Weeraratne.
The Sri Lankan ruggerites have been training hard for the last three
weeks under the watchful eyes of National Sevens coach Imthisham Marikar
and are confident of giving a good display at this tournament which will
serve as a qualifier for the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens in March next year.
The Lankans will be accompanied by former national coach of Sri Lanka
and China, George Simkin who is the consultant coach and manager
Christopher Jordashe. The Sri Lanka Sevens squad: Pradeep Liyanage

Weeraratne, Darshana Etipola (all from Kandy SC), Vishwamithra

Radhika Hettiarachchi, Dilan de Zoysa, Charith Seneviratne (all from Air
Force).
