Attitudinal training for Buddhist monks

The Buddhasasana and Religious Affairs Ministry in collaboration with the Education Ministry Religious Unit and Sambuddhathwa Jayanthi Steering Committee has planned an attitudinal training and development program for Buddhist monks throughout the country to mark the 2600th Sambuddhathwa Jayanthi anniversary .

The program will be launched under the theme, Piliwethin Pelagesemu. (Let us all be principled)

According to the Buddha's teachings, upholding discipline is the main objective of the Buddhist society.

This is common to both bhikkhus and laymen. Bhikkhus are the leading segment of the Buddhist society.

To fulfill these objectives monks should be reinforced with discipline.
