Rakunsaraya is an exciting new movie with an element of science fiction. It is a wonderful creation of suspense and imagination. This magical movie involves two children who travel into the past on a mission. This mission is to retrieve the Rakunsaraya book of knowledge.

Rakunsaraya is a teledrama series done with the collaboration of i group.

It will bring a unique experience for the Sri Lankan audience. There are several reasons for this, one being that this production is not commercially motivated. The teledrama is intended to enlighten the Sri Lankan audience about their identity and history. The story which revolves around the two children is intended for the younger audience.

At a time when inapt programs are telecast in the country, Rakunsaraya promises to bring a refreshing experience tailor made for the younger generation of Sri Lanka. This program is invaluable. Aimed at giving knowledge of our heritage to the Sri Lankan audience the teledrama is directed by Rosa Kele filmmaker Sanjaya Nirmal.

“Our aim is to create awareness about the rich history via the media cinema and television,” said The i group Managing Director Dr. Damenda Porage.

“Dr. Porage invited us to oversee the historical aspect of the film in its historical context” said Ven. Ellawelle Medananda thera.

“The younger generation will receive an awareness about Sri Lankan history and heritage through the tele production. This is a victory for all of us” noted Post and Telecommunication Minister Jeevan Kumaratunga The i group is a production company that goes in search of potentially successful films.
