Pakistan-India engage in Mango Diplomacy

India: Mango seems to be the best goodwill ambassador resorted to by India and Pakistan, two neighbouring nuclear powers and traditional enemies that have engaged in various wars, in an attempt to iron out their differences and express thankfulness.

According to India IANS news agency, Islamabad has sent mangoes to thank India for the US$5 million aid offered by New Delhi following the floods that affected about 20 million Pakistanis. Yes, we received a box of mangoes, accompanied by the greetings of the Pakistani people, said an anonymous source of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s office.
