Cuba urges respect for sovereignty of nations

UN: Cuban ambassador to the United Nations, Pedro Nuñez Mosquera, has urged respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the countries affected by natural disasters, after expressing his solidarity with Pakistan.

Cuba rejects the imposition of ambiguous concepts which are easy to manipulate to violate the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference in the internal affairs of other States, said Nuñez Mosquera.

Addressing the topic of the agenda on the reinforcement of the coordination of emergency humanitarian aid given by the UN, the Cuban diplomat noted that it is the affected country that is in charge of dispensing the aid and calling for international support.
