Zahira Group of 90 hold sports festival

Zahira College Colombo, Group of 90’s held its Sports Festival 2010 for the fourth consecutive year at the College grounds, Maradana recently.

The intention of organizing a festival of this nature is primarily to foster goodwill among the old boys and to generate funds for the development of the college infrastructure and students educational and extra-curricular activities.

A 6-a-side Cricket Tournament, 7 a-side-Football Tournament, 7-a-side Rugby Tournament, 7-a-side exhibition Football match between Combined Schools Vs Zahira College, 6-a-side exhibition Cricket Match between Teachers Vs Old Boys, 7 a side exhibition hockey match between president boys vs old boys, Karate display by present boys, Art Competition for Schoolchildren and Fun & Games for Children were held.

The Chief Guest Sumithra Garments Chairman Haroon Ahamed, Director Ahamed Haroon, Zahira College Principal T. K. Azoor, Vice Principal R. Ravindran, Prefects of Games M. Farook and Sri Lanka Schools Soccer Association Secretary Melroy Perera distributed prizes and certificates to winners.
